For many veterans, transportation challenges are a major barrier to employment and self-reliance. Without a reliable source of transportation, veterans may find it difficult to get and keep a job. If a veteran can demonstrate that he or she already has a job, is committed to finding a job or in other ways is demonstrating an effort to become self-reliant, we may help by:

  • Providing the veteran with bus passes or gas cards.
  • Coordinating with other organizations to provide the veteran with shuttle or other transportation services.
  • Helping the veteran with car repairs or other automotive expenses related to their own vehicles.

All decisions concerning transportation needs are decided on a case-by-case basis and must reflect attempts by the veteran to become self-reliant.
