Military Veterans Resource Center (MVRC) is partnering with the Ohio Benefit Bank to once again offer free income tax filing assistance to veterans, military service members, and spouses who meet certain income requirements. MVRC has special walk-in Tax Days at each of our locations in which no appointment is necessary. Dates scheduled so far are: Thursday, March 30 at our Dayton center Saturday, April 1 in Hamilton, Ohio Thursday, April 6 at our Dayton center Tuesday, April 11 at our Chillicothe center Wednesday, April 12 at our Hamilton center Friday, April 14 at our Columbus center Monday, April 17 at our Dayton center Tuesday, April 18 at our Columbus, Chillicothe and Hamilton centers Those requirements are veterans and spouses filing jointly must have an adjusted gross income of $95,000 or less and everyone else must have an adjusted gross income of $65,000 or less. The free tax filing service is available until April 18 at all four locations. Veterans can either file in person with a certified tax counselor, or they can file online at milvetsrc.org/taxes. We are also offering free assistance with home utility payments through the Home Energy Assistance Program or HEAP.
