LION awards $1,250 donation to Military Veterans Resource Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DAYTON, Ohio (April 26, 2016) – On April 7, LION Apparel Inc. awarded a $1,250 donation to Military Veterans Resource Center (MVRC) to help provide counseling services to veterans. Headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, LION designs and manufactures protective gear for firefighters and law enforcement agencies, provides training equipment and facilities for first responders, and manages clothing logistics for the U.S. military. Their donation was made possible by their Jeans Day Fund, an annual fundraiser that 55 employees participated in last year. “We believe in being corporate citizens. One of our important customers is the military, and many more of our customers are first responders who are also military veterans,” said LION CEO Steve Schwartz on why they chose MVRC to receive their donation. Accepting the award was Len Proper, MVRC Executive Director, Kelley Koons, Veterans Services Specialist who manages MVRC’s Dayton office, and Ryan Sargent, MVRC’s Licensed Professional Counselor. “We’re humbled by LION’s donation and grateful for their commitment to veterans in the community,” said Proper. “Because of their donation, we’ll be able to serve more veterans who need help.” For questions about MVRC’s counseling services, contact Ryan Sargent at 614-230-0401. Military Veterans Resource Center helps veterans develop self-reliance and independence by providing access to the resources they need to successfully manage life transitions.
